Procurement Agent

An autonomous agent that handles RFQ creation, supplier outreach, and first-round negotiation — closing the loop on routine sourcing without human triage.

The Procurement Agent is designed to handle the repetitive 80% of sourcing — leaving human buyers to focus on strategy, exceptions, and relationships.

What it does

  • Receives a sourcing request (item, quantity, target date, budget envelope)
  • Identifies qualified suppliers from the SRM graph based on category, history, and current capacity
  • Drafts and dispatches RFQs in the supplier’s preferred format and language
  • Conducts a structured first-round negotiation with each respondent within policy
  • Produces a recommendation pack: top three options, trade-offs, and a suggested award

Guardrails

Every irreversible action — sending an RFQ, accepting a quote, awarding a PO — passes through a confirmation loop with a buyer. The agent proposes; the human approves.

Why this matters

Average mid-size manufacturers run hundreds of routine sourcing events a month. Even shaving 60% of cycle time off these compounds into millions in working capital and dramatically faster response to demand signals.
